Augustine our son, is now 11 and thriving. He was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at the age of four. Initially, I went in for a diagnosis for his speech delay since he was non verbal but God had other plans for our boy. The spectrum is a very vast and infinite wide range, there’s no one fits all with autism. He has been getting ABA services going on 7 years now that help him with his social skills, repetitive behaviors, emotions, communication & behaviors. He now fast forward is high functioning and is very devoted to routine and order. He has a group of friends that are compassionate and are supportive and patient with him helping him to thrive in social environments, they call themselves the Avengers! My boy now is the most talkative kid I know, can roast you like no other and is one of the happiest, funniest, healthiest kids I know. He has worked so hard and continues to work to be the best version of himself every day, we are so proud of him. If only we had more Augustine’s, this world would be a better place.
